Jiangsu Suqian undertakes transfer of textile and garment industry

Recently, the “China Huaihai Textile and Apparel Brand Center” has officially started construction in Suqian City. After the completion of the project, more than 500 well-known brands will be introduced. “In the future, Suqian will become the largest and highest-grade textile and clothing production base in the country,” said Su Peng, deputy director of the Suqian Municipal Party Committee.

Textile migration via "value-added land"

“Because of the unbalanced development among regions and the constraints of related factors, the allocation of resources across large regions by large enterprises is an inevitable trend for industrial optimization,” said Zhang Haiyan, secretary-general of the China Textile Industry Federation’s circulation branch. Since the beginning of this year, new investment in the central and western regions has maintained rapid growth, despite the slowdown in investment growth in the textile industry. Statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics show that from January to July, the investment in the textile industry in the central region increased by 18.7% year-on-year, accounting for 30.5% of the country's total.

Yang Jun, executive deputy director of the Industrial Transition Office of the Federation of Textile Industry, pointed out that Suqian has the advantages of regional industrial transfer near Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and has obvious advantages in labor and land costs, making it possible to build a complete industrial chain of textile and clothing and gradually cultivate regional brands.

It is understood that in recent years, Suqian City has become the most rapidly developing emerging industrial and commercial city in the Yangtze River Delta region. Through “building nests and attracting phoenixes” and actively building platforms for enterprises, Suqian’s textile industry has now formed a complete range of chemical fiber, wool and cotton spinning doors. The industrial structure of raw materials, production, and markets is well established.

Suqian Municipal Party Committee Vice-President Shi Peng introduced that Suqian City's main business income has exceeded 100 million yuan in textile and garment companies have more than 30, of which more than 80% are foreign investment companies. In the first half of this year, the city achieved a gross regional product of 70.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%; fiscal revenue was 18.25 billion yuan, an increase of 29.7%, ranking the first in the North Jiangsu region.

Clothing brand "base camp" will debut

Today, he will be in the hands of Spinner (Beijing) Investment Management Co., Ltd. to jointly build the "Huaihai Textile and Garment Center of China" project into a "sweater brand display trading center, logistics distribution center, cultural communication center, e-commerce Center, Talent Training Center, Financial Service Center."

The “China Huaihai Textile and Garment Center” project has a total investment of 800 million yuan and a total construction area of ​​209,331 square meters. It is estimated that more than 500 corporate headquarters, brand regional headquarters, and famous brands will be introduced, and the annual turnover will reach 7 billion yuan. Billion yuan, 3,000 people are directly employed, driving more than 30 billion yuan in the upstream and downstream industrial chains and employing more than 15,000 people.

Relevant person in charge of the project told the China Securities Journal that Suqian will create a 100 billion-class textile and apparel production and sales base, and the completed Huaihai Textile and Garment Brand Center will play an engine role.
